part time Marketing assistant

An exciting opportunity to join a family run craft brewer with big growth plans. The role would include working across our craft brewery and venues, we currently have three venues with plans for more to follow. Each venue is different in terms of retail offering and brand proposition plus of course our growing craft brewery, resulting in great opportunities for progression for the right candidate.

The role

Reporting directly into the MD and fellow directors, working closely with our venues and brewing team ensuring that the marketing plans are executed, the development of marketing materials, across a number of channels including print, social media, websites and direct mail, specifically the role would include the following:

  • Coordination of brewery tours

  • Social media posts

  • Merchandising our products in supermarkets

  • Designing menus, posters, pump clips and adhoc art working

  • Websites updates

  • Email newsletters

  • Management and processing of web sales and brewery shop

  • Adhoc sales calls

The successful applicant will ideally be a graduate looking for a position within a marketing department. You will have strong organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills, be able to work to short deadlines in a fast paced work environment.

You must be creative with a flair for designing marketing material for web & print, have high attention to detail and proofing skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You must be an effective communicator with an aptitude for learning and a strong work ethic and enthusiastic.

You will also need to get out into trade and build relationships with customers through merchandising, as a small head office team you must have a can do attitude, happy to help across a number of areas as required, this can involve administration, sales calls and adhoc events or activities.

Personal Requirements

  • You must be organised with an excellent attention to detail. You should be able to offer that “extra mile” to achieve perfection.

  • You will be passionate about the hospitality industry, a strong appreciation of craft beer, have excellent communication skills and have a friendly helpful manner. You will be required to work towards team goals.

  • Be comfortable networking and building rapport to secure future events

  • A strong understanding & knowledge of B2C & B2B marketing is essential.

  • Literate in MS Office, Adobe software packages InDesign & Photoshop, and Wordpress.

  • Knowledge of latest graphic design trends

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Be comfortable negotiating, delegating and working under pressure

What we look for

  • This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering excellent marketing skills along with a minimum of 6 months experience of working within a marketing department. Formal qualifications in Marketing or associated fields would be beneficial.

  • Attention to detail and time management.

Benefits & Package

The salary for the role is £16,000 - £18,000 depending on experience, pro rata'd down to three days per week.

The role is predominantly weekdays however due to the nature of the business it can include weekend work when required

HEAD CHEF - The Pig Lichfield

Responsibilities of the role

The overall running of the kitchen, managing of the kitchen team to meet performance and budget targets, here at Derby Brewing Company we believe in leading from the front, we do not compromise when it comes to food, we believe in fresh homemade food, locally sourced and we don’t cut corners, as such it is essential that all head chefs embody this principle in all our kitchens.

·       Create menus and specials in conjunction with the directors and manager, including fully costing each dish to ensure it consistently hits margin

·       Monitor suppliers and deliveries to ensure they are always at the agreed prices

·       Provide takings on target, wage spend on target to hit quarterly forecast & targets

·       Keeping wastage & stock holding to reasonable agreed levels

·       Ensure food is always served to a consistent standard and following fresh food principles

·       Deliver food with acceptable wait times

·       Ensure food hygiene including full HACCP paperwork is maintained and up to date

·       Generally embody the fresh food and consistency of food principles of DBC at all times, ensuring that you would be proud of every plate that leaves the kitchen

·       A track record in developing our talented chefs ensuring they are consistently trained and developed  

·       Being IT literate to ensure all back office management is carried out efficiently and always up to date

Skills

Experience in all areas of running a kitchen including menu design, menu costing,  food hygiene, good time keeping, a food hygiene certificate, The ability to work during busy service, working quickly whilst maintaining high quality standards of food and good time keeping is essential.

Hours of work

Due to the nature of the business the candidate must be flexible in terms of hours which will include weekend work.

Benefits & Package

The package for this role is up to £21,000 - £23,000 depending on experience, with potential for live in accommodation in the future.

WAIT STAFF AT THE KEDLESTON COUNTRY HOUSE

Are you passionate about great drinks and excellent service and mouth watering food? If you are you might be perfect for the Kedleston Country House. We are looking for a mutli skilled team member who is equally as comfortable behind the bar or waiting on the floor in our restaurant. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team who will be offering something unique. You would be expected to have good knowledge on all areas of the drinks menu and be confident in talking the customers through the drinks on offer and our tasty menus.

As part of the role you will be working closely with our management team to form a great team. The role will include table service and preparing the drinks as well as waiting on the floor in the restaurant.
